The Tajikistan national air carrier, "Tajik Air" Airline, has got the permission for operation of regular flights to the Saudi Arabian cities. The right to operate regular flights to Jeddah, Riyad and Dammam was acquired following the results of the mission of the Airline's and General Civil Aviation Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Communications representatives.
Visit of the Tajik specialists to Saudi Arabia was made at the initiative of the national air carrier within the frames of the Haj-2010 Program for getting permission for operation of flights to Saudi Arabia by the aircrafts registered in Tajikistan. It should be noted that in March 2009 Saudi Arabia prohibited, for some unknown reasons, the flights operated by the aircrafts with the Tajikistan registration (EY). At the end of negotiations the Tajik side succeeded in derestriction and initialed the Intergovernmental agreement on air service between Tajikistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Memorandum of understanding. On the basis of the preliminary understanding the "Tajik Air" Airline acquired the right to operate flights by the Western-made aircrafts from any airport of the Republic of Tajikistan (Dushanbe, Kurgantuybe, Kulyab, Khudjand) to Jeddah, Riyad and Dammam. Saudi Arabia reserved the right to operate flights to the Dushanbe and Khudjand airports. |
